Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is the method of bringing selected quality sperm from the father and eggs from the mother for contraception in the laboratory. These will then develop into embryos before being transferred back into the uterus for pregnancy.

ICSI is suitable for mothers who have hydrosalpinx (when fallopian tube/s are damaged or blocked) and have chocolate cysts in their ovaries. It is also suitable for fathers who have abnormally shaped sperm and prospective parents who are older 36 years old. These factors contribute to infertility. Families that have tried IUI 3-4 times without success should also consider ICSI.

If your family is over 35 years old and wants a baby, this treatment can make your dream come true. ICSI has only 6 simple steps.
1. Come in for a health check to assess the health of the father and the mother.
2. Check the quality of the father’s sperm.
3. Give injection for ovulation induction.
4. Collect mature eggs from ovaries by a specialist team.
5. Bring the sperm and eggs together for fertilisation in the laboratory to develop into an embryo.
6. Transfer embryos back into the uterus for pregnancy.

With this simple process, you will have your baby. In addition, this method can help us screen for chromosomal abnormalities and reduce the risk of down syndrome and other genetic disorders. This treatment can eliminate many concerns that parents have.
